The epic adventures of the legendary Baran the Bandit following his release from prison. After serving 35 years, it is no surprise that the world has changed dramatically. Still, Baran can't help but be shocked to discover that his home village is now underwater thanks to the construction of a new dam. He then heads for Istanbul to get revenge upon his former best friend, the man who snitched on him and stole his lover Keje. Along the way, Baran teams up with Cumali, a tough young punk who finds the thief's old-fashioned ways rather quaint. When Cumali gets into deep trouble with a crime boss, Baran adds another vengeful task to his roster.。故事发生在湖南武冈，南明朝永历皇帝一度偏安于此，以图反清复明。武冈是明朝建国之初由明太祖朱元璋分封的岷国藩王的都城。如今的朱岷王是永历皇帝的皇叔，他见南明大势已去便勾结清兵，被永历皇帝派人暗杀，但朱岷王的头颅不知去见。南明决定继续南撤，为了转移从北京带出的金银财宝（反清复明的资本），永历皇帝决定厚葬朱岷王，铸造黄金头颅入殓，以遮人耳目。天下盗墓贼及土匪云集武冈，明清之间展开了一场角逐。故事的部分情节根据民间传说做了虚构。。
