本作由井上刚担任导演，与NHK四月播出的剧集《地震之后》共享故事框架，同时新增场景重新剪辑而成。该片基于村上春树短篇小说集《神的孩子全跳舞》中四则短篇，讲述关于丧失与重生的故事。描绘1995年阪神淡路大地震后，四个在不同时代与地域背负孤独生存之人的命运交织，最终与当下产生联结的历程。。Lola and Chelsea know nothing of each other, only that they wait for the bus everyday at the same time.
