高校2年生の黒瀬令児（荒木飛羽）は、町や家族に縛られながら“ただ”生きていた。 認知症の祖母と、その介護に追われる母親、引きこもりの兄との窮屈な4人暮らし。5年前に家を出て行ったという父親は、行方不明だ。そんな状況下で、将来の夢も特にない。町を出たいという気持ちはあるが、少しでも母親を楽にさせるため、大学には進学せず、就職を希望していた。 ただ、漠然と日々を過ごしていた時、運命の出会いを果たす―。憧れのアイドル・青江ナギが、町にいた。そして、ナギに持ち掛けられたのは“心中”だった…。 生きることに希望はあるのか。この先に「光」はあるのか。そんな令児を取り巻くのは、町を出ると約束した幼馴染、執拗につきまとう教師、息子を縛る母親、そして、かつての親友。絶望の淵に漂う少年のスーサイドラブストーリー、開幕―。。A group of students who are participating in a university's summer science camp are drawn into an incredible quagmire of conflicts, ranging from the relatively simple conflict between an engaging and forthright young teacher and his older manipulative colleague, to a contest pitting political correctness against free scientific inquiry. Despite the murkiness of some of the issues in the latter conflict, the students pitch in enthusiastically on what they believe to be the side of righteousness, and passions rise to fever pitch.
