非洲大草原上，千百年来始终上演不变的残酷舞蹈。由于人类的捕猎与开发土地，狮子数量锐减，生存空间始终在缩小，母狮马蒂陶一家的领地便受到迁徙狮群的挑战。在争夺领地的过程中，马蒂陶失去了她的公狮，不得不带着三只小狮子一路逃开寻找新的领地。横跨河流的过程中，一只小狮子丧生，马蒂陶和剩下两个孩子成功渡河到了一片名为“杜巴”的小岛。修整生息之后，岛上又迎来同样被迫迁徙的野牛群，马蒂陶慢慢掌握猎杀野牛的技巧，也持续躲避其他狮群的追击，还要面对鬣狗的争食。“单身妈妈”马蒂陶和她的幼崽是否是地球上最后的狮子的缩影呢？曾经的百兽之王如今生存得这样艰难。。Andrea "Andi" Carson (Alana Austin) is an average teenage girl.
