青年黃學勤(黃日華)的好友羅祖光(湯振業)從外國留學返港，欲在公司內大展拳腳，卻為繼母鍾月湄(關菊英)阻撓，幸得學勤和潔瑩(劉嘉玲)幫助，才能度過難關。 祖光打動潔瑩成為情侶。祖光因未婚妻返港，即與潔瑩分手。潔瑩被祖光欺騙感情，非常傷心，幸得學勤細心開解，兩人漸生情愫。祖光與未婚妻感情破裂，再次向潔瑩展開追求，令潔瑩難於抉擇。 祖光生意失敗，企圖以非法手段騙取保險金，後為學勤知悉，加以勸阻，祖光痛悟前非，排除萬難，重新振作。。這部電影向開創性的喜劇節目《喜劇小品》致敬，星光陣容包含莉莉·湯姆琳、史努比狗狗、比利·克里斯托、帝芬妮·哈帝斯及尼爾·派屈克·哈里斯等。Gloria wakes up one morning in her attic with yet another boyfriend at her side, Fuffi.
