Comedy about the proverbial genie who comes out of a bottle (a table lamp in this instance) to serve his new master. The only problem is that instead of helping his master, the genie (Burl Ives) tends to get his master (Tony Randall) into more predicaments than he gets him out of.。物語は「監察医朝顔」のラストの翌年春から幕を開け、朝顔が母の遺体を探しに1人で東北を訪れたことによって新たな物語が紡がれていく。彼女が東日本大震災と母の死に深く向き合うさまや、前作では描けなかった東日本大震災以外の大規模災害にも相対する姿が切り取られる。。
